Ware directed and acted in a commedia dell’arte show as part of World Commedia Day, a worldwide event promoting awareness of this beautiful, hilarious, challenging art form. His was the only performance in the region/state, and one of only a handful in the Americas.
Working within an established scenario, the company improvised a 40-minute comedy show performed in traditional half masks. As director, Ware provided coaching to cast members unfamiliar with mask work and guided the cast through the process of creating new material within the confines of our general story. As an actor, he played Arlecchino, a mischievous servant.
